We Are Sean Bell...
The whole Damn System is Guilty!!

now, if you don't know the story, a year and some time ago, a guy was out having fun before the night he was planning to get married at this strip club round my way.

got into an argument with some people at the club, and him and his two other friends to go leave the club.

the people they were arguing with followed them, one thing led to another and these undercover cops shot Sean bell and his friends 50+ times.

Sean Bell didn't make it, his two other friends were injured, but lived to see another day.

anyways, a year later, cops go on trial.

and being that this is the fine city of new york in the fine country we call America, of COURSE the cops were acquitted of killing the poor man.

this verdict was read a week ago, and of course the community are hoping mad.

now i'm not sure what happened, but i know for damn sure there was no fucking reason to shot the boy up 50 times, even if they were coming at you in a car in a threatening way, could you blame them they don't know you from a whole in the wall, but still, you DON'T HAVE TO SHOOT TO KILL!!! for god damn sake, shoot a tire out, shot him in the arm, but DON'T SHOOT 50+ times, thats excessive.

anyways, i stayed with the group for a while, took a lot of photos

Strong statement. I like the composition. There is a story within the image. I would have liked to have been able to read a little more of the sign on his chest to kind of make the message a little clearer. I like that you did it in black and white because of the contrast and IMO relative to the somber and tragic situation. I also like that the image has both black and white people in it to show that opposition to injustice should know no colors.

yeah i agree with you an all that had to be said. i kinda wish i had a better angle but its kinda hard taking pics while standing on a moving van :-) hehe i fell a couple times tryin to catch shots. anyways, yeah, i wanted to tell a story, i just wish more people could hear whats going on in this world, some people are oblivious to such things and i think everyone should at least know the types of things that go on around them...

Yeah, that's the wonderful thing about visual media because IMO people tend to be more influenced by what they see rather than what they hear (unless its gossip of course). ;)
